a visual and emotional narrative. The project was developed for Flying Broom Foundation and was screened at the Embassy of Canada in Turkey.

My Role

I directed and edited the film, taking full responsibility for shaping both its narrative and visual language.

I focused on building a strong emotional tone through pacing, composition, and editing rhythm, aiming to create a compelling and thought-provoking experience.

Process

The project began with defining a clear emotional direction and message, rather than a complex narrative structure. I explored ways to convey the subject through visual storytelling, focusing on mood, rhythm, and subtle details.

During editing, I carefully shaped the pacing and transitions to enhance the emotional impact and maintain a cohesive tone throughout the film.

Reflection

This project reinforced my interest in using film as a medium for addressing social issues.

It also helped me develop a more intuitive approach to directing and editing, where emotional clarity and atmosphere play a central role in storytelling.

Working on such a sensitive topic made me more aware of the responsibility that comes with visual storytelling.
